The castle was made during the Edo period, and the appearance of the castle and stone walls is reminiscent of the early years of the period. It is also known as a good place to view cherry blossoms, and 1,000 Yashino cherry trees bloom fully here in early April in a typical year. They are floodlighted at night while in bloom.
