The tidal currents reach speeds of up to 20 kilometers per hour, the swirls have diameters of up to 30 meters and waterfalls as high as 2 meters are formed in the middle of the sea.
Nadakuroiwa Suisen Kyo
This is one of Japan's three largest narcissus colonies. In this famous location, 5 million wild narcissuses bloom on around approx. 7 hectares. The best time to see them is around mid-January to early February.
Awaji Island had various ningyo-za puppet troupes large and small from the early 1600s to 1930. They performed all over Japan, conveying the charm of Japanese puppet show. Today Awaji Ningyo-za carries on that tradition, holding five performances a day.
